Helft vertriebenen Kollegen in der Ukraine über den Winter!

Einige von Euch sind engagiert in der Betreuung ukrainischer Geflüchteter oder auch in der materiellen Hilfe in der Ukraine und ihren Grenzgebieten. Doch wie geht unseren Kollegen in der Ukraine? Im März, nach Beginn des russischen Angriffs, hatten wir ihnen geschrieben, dass wir für sie beten. 

Nun berichtet Igor Bandura, Generalsekretär der ukrainischen Baptisten, auf der letzten Ratstagung der Europäisch-Baptistischen Föderation in Riga im September 2022 unter anderem: Inzwischen gehören rund 80 ihrer Pastoren zu den Internally Displaced Persons (IDP), Binnenflüchtlingen also, die anderswo im Land Schutz gesucht haben. An ihren Fluchtorten versuchen sie nun, ihren Kollegen dort und den Gemeinden in deren immensen Herausforderungen zu helfen. So weit es die Mühen um ihr eigenes Überleben zulassen.

Wir können ihnen in diesem Dienst helfen! Der ukrainische Bund hat uns nun konkrete Zahlen genannt. Aus denen ergibt sich: 40 Euro monatlich, über die nächsten 4 Monate – wenn alle auf unseren Listen mitmachten, könnten wir damit den rund 80 betroffenen Kollegen über den Winter helfen. Nicht alle von uns werden das aufbringen können. Wer kann mehr geben? Und über die EBF bewerben wir dieses Projekt auch europaweit. Das Geld wird über German Baptist Aid in die Ukraine gehen (neben himmlischen Credits, vermutlich, gibt es auch eine Spendenbescheinigung, sicher), und hier ist das Konto:

Help for Internally Displaced Pastors in Ukraine in this winter

At the EBF council in Riga this September, Igor Bandura, General Secretary of the All-Ukrainian Union of Associations of Evangelical Christians-Baptists, told us about the plight of Ukrainian Baptist pastors who had to leave their places as Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) in the cause of the war. In their places of refuge, they are now trying to help their colleagues there and their churches in their immense challenges. As much as the travails of their own survival will allow.

As the German Baptist Pastors’ Fellowship we have decided to help them in this ministry. The Ukrainian Baptist Union has now given us concrete figures. These figures can be broken down to this: 40 Euros per month, over the next 4 months - if we found 800 pastors in Germany and Europe who could join in that effort, we could help the 80 affected colleagues through the winter. The money will go to Ukraine via the well-established channels of German Baptist Aid. (If more is raised, it will be used to support other colleagues in need in Ukraine).

In March, we as pastors of the German Baptist Union had written to our colleagues in Ukraine that we were praying for them. Surely many of you keep praying for them also.
